Nigel Garrett, MBBS MRCP MSc PhD. Head of the HIV Pathogenesis
and Vaccine Research programme at CAPRISA. Nigel is the CAPRISA
Investigator of Record for the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) studies
and currently serves as international Co-chair on the COVPN 3008
Ubuntu mRNA vaccine trial, Co-PI on the Sisonke JnJ COVID-19 vaccine
study and PI on several NIH self-initiated grants. As Principal and Co-
Investigator, he has conducted more than 20 randomized clinical trials
and large cohort studies related to HIV prevention and COVID-19
vaccines and has published more than 100 manuscripts on topics
including vaccines, HIV prevention and sexual health.
